Young photographers invited to snap SpareParts at Fleetwood Festival of Transport

Budding young photographers are invited to take part in a series of workshops and be commissioned to photograph the SpareParts Arts Programme at Fleetwood Festival of Transport.

Up to eight young people aged between 13 and 19 are able to take part in and will work with professional Blackpool based photographers Claire Griffiths and Jill Reidy to develop their skills. The selected young people will learn about camera settings, composition and angles during the workshop and get the chance to go out and about with Claire and Jill trying out their newly learnt techniques.

Following on from the workshop they?ll be commissioned to photograph the arts elements at ever popular ?Tram Sunday? on Sunday 19 July with support from Claire and Jill. On the day there will be a whole host of international and UK based artists and performers taking to the streets so there will be plenty for them to snap their shutters at.

After the festival the young people will meet with Claire and Jill to select their favourite images, learn about cropping and editing them and finally have their work as part of an exhibition following the festival at The Mount Pavilion during summer 2015 for all to see.

Young people who take part in the project will receive a ?30 voucher as a reward for their involvement in the project.

Young people should have their own camera where possible and applications should be received by Monday 6 July at 9am.
