Showzam! Full Programme

Blackpool’s Annual Festival of Circus and Performance is set to return for its eigth year from the 14-18 February. Showzam! 2015 brings together some of the best international circus and street theatre from as far afield as South America, Canada and the USA – plus there are free and ticketed shows to suit everyone.

Festival headliners Circolombia will wow audiences with their high energy blend of spectacular circus skills, urban dance moves and an original soundtrack featuring two live female vocalists – its a circus concert not to be missed and takes place in the stunning surroundings of The Blackpool Tower Circus.

The jewel in the crown of the festival as always is the Showzam! Carnival Ball in The Blackpool Tower Ballroom on the 14 February. The ball gives you a chance to experience some of the fantastic performers who will be appearing throughout the five day festival before anyone else. Featuring performances from Circolombia, Abigail Collins, Starfiz and Kitty Bang Bang, plus live music from Balkan style band Kumpania Algazzara and compered by the fabulous Jonny Woo – this is one night you simply must see to believe.

All the family will be entertained at Showzam! Central as the festival takes over Blackpool Winter Gardens with a host of free shows, performances and sideshows from the 14-17 February. See Swedish duo Magmanus show off their high flying circus skills or enter the Little Box Of Horrors if you dare and prepare to be amazed by Hocus Pocus Theatre’s Sideshow of Curiosities – all surrounded by the splendour of one of Blackpool’s most loved buildings.

The Monsters of Shlock and Abigail Collins provide edgy evenings of entertainment – not for the faint hearted – at the Winter Gardens Pavilion from 15-17 February too. Hailing from Canada the Monsters of Shlock are set to have you in stitches with their dark slapstick comedy… so funny it hurts, while Abigail Collins tells the story of Peggy Sued in “Leaving Las Vegas (Again)”.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach are also offering a host of circus themed workshops perfect for children and families – find out how to create the perfect clown face, refine your dance skills or take yourself up in the air with the aerial hoop.

You can also take a step back in time and experience Blackpool’s rich entertainment heritage with tours of The Blackpool Tower, Winter Gardens and the Pleasure Beach.
