Supper Clubs

As LeftCoast enters it’s fourth phase, the team have been travelling to different areas of Blackpool, and taking their Supper Clubs with them.

What happens?

The evenings take place once every six to eight weeks where residents in the area are invited along for a bite to eat and lively chat about what artistic project they might want to see in their neighbourhoods.

A compare is hired to provide the entertainment and lead the evening around various games and activities that encourage creative dialogue.

Go Sees

From the Supper Clubs, LeftCoast’s Blackpool community friends are invited on Go Sees – adventures to other community projects in the
North West – with the hope of inspiring ideas for their own community.

So far, the group have been to Kendal’s Paper Mill, Kitty’s Launderette in Liverpool, and Squash’s community garden.

The future of Supper Clubs

The team have been busy visiting Claremont, Revoe, South Shore, Grange Park, Mereside and Hawes Side and have been striking up conversations with the locals.

These conversations will eventually lead to larger scale projects in the area, curating art work (whether that be community garden spaces, library & laundry rooms, or local art exhibitions) through socially-engaged practice.
