LeftCoast’s Artistic Director Tina Redford to step down

We have team news…

In April this year, our current Director, Tina Redford, will be leaving LeftCoast. Tina believes it is the best time to step down as the company celebrates its 10th anniversary and looks ahead to another decade of innovative, artistic practice.

To assure the ongoing ambition, quality and continuity of LeftCoast’s work, team members Helen Jones and Laura Jamieson will lead the company through its current Arts Council England funding phases (from April 2024 to March 2026), as the Joint Directors. Helen will be Operations Director and Laura will be Artistic Director.

Tina says: “My last 7 and a half years in Blackpool have been a joy. I love the town, I love this work and I love the team. There is so much more to come from LeftCoast, and I know that, together, Laura and Helen will confidently and creatively lead the company into its future direction. Both the Steering Group and I recognise that LeftCoast is in great shape as a company, and it will be left in great hands when I leave in Spring.”

John Donnellon, Chair of the LeftCoast Steering Group and Blackpool Coastal Housing‘s Chief Executive, says: “Tina has made a tremendous success of LeftCoast, and she leaves the company with a sustainable future which is a real achievement in the current climate and for the sector. I want to thank her for her contribution.”

LeftCoast Steering Group Member and Head of School for Leadership Management and Lifestyle at Blackpool and The Fylde College, Annie Kerfoot, says: “We are excited for the future ahead for LeftCoast. The significant cultural impact that the company has made over the last 10 years is such a great foundation to build from. I wish Tina all the very best for the next steps on her journey and thank her for the great leadership and ambition that she has provided during her time at LeftCoast.

“Laura and Helen, as Joint Directors, bring an incredible skill set, intricate knowledge and creative energy for the future. I am confident that they will continue to deliver artistically ambitious and socially useful work with the LeftCoast team that we know makes such a difference to our communities.”
