I’m Glad You’re Here at Fleetwood Festival of Transport

Visitors to Fleetwood Festival of Transport who are arriving by tram are getting the chance to have a welcome with a difference from artist Lowri Evans as part of the SpareParts Arts element of the festival.

Lowri will be bringing I?m Glad You?re Here, which originally premiered at Preston Train Station in April, to the Fisherman?s Walk Street tram stop and give visitors their own personalised filmic welcome as they step onto the platform between 12-6pm on the 19 July.

There are five options to choose from including stepping onto the red carpet, complete with paparazzi, autograph requests and a glass of something fizzy; a crowd of supporters holding a personalised banner and a confetti cannon; or ?the hustle? where a security guard will provide you a secure exit from the platform (sunglasses included).

Speaking about I?m Glad You?re Here, Lowri said:

?I?m really looking forward to welcoming people throughout the day in Fleetwood. What amazed me when we did it in Preston was how everyone got involved, not only the passengers that booked on to the service, but onlookers and train station staff, to make an ordinary arrival into something celebratory and memorable.?

?I loved the spontaneous sporadic community that would pop up on the platforms and I?m hoping that visitors to Fleetwood will get that experience when they step off the tram at Fleetwood Festival of Transport.?

Michael Trainor, Artistic Director of LeftCoast, added:

?I?m Glad You?re Here provides a truly unique experience and we hope that visitors to Fleetwood Festival of Transport will really treasure the moment when they step off the tram to be greeted by one of Lowri?s filmic moments.?

?The programme of arts taking place across the day in Fleetwood is shaping up really nicely and this will give you the perfect start to your SpareParts experience as part of the ever popular Tram Sunday.?

Limited numbers of FREE welcomes are available on the day and booking is essential. For more information or to book your welcome visit www.thelowri.com/glad A full list of welcome times will be available on the day.
