Get Dancing is a new social dance with a twist. It is an open invite to the Blackpool community and the world to come together and create something special. It is an antidote to the pandemic.

You are at the heart of creating this new dance, send us your ideas, learn it and share it with your friends.

Inspired by a long tradition of novelty dances in Blackpool this new dance will bring together local, national and international communities to inspire people to dance together culminating in a live performance in October 2021.

Have you heard our new Blackpool song, “The Blackpool Way”?
This new music was created by Leeds-based composer, Callum Harvie for our Get Dancing project. It takes inspiration from Horiato Nicholls’ 1938 hit the ‘Blackpool Walk’.

Wow! We have been blown away by your dance ideas for Get Dancing.  Check out all the submission videos in our gallery…

House of Wingz have been in production and have now developed ‘The Blackpool Way’, inspired by all the amazing submissions we’ve had.

We will be launching ‘The Blackpool Way’ on the international day of dance, 29th April.  Watch this space and our socials for information about to learn the dance.  Once you’ve learnt it video yourself and tag us in your video’s with #getdancing #blackpoolway

Get Dancing will culminate in a live performance of the dance in Blackpool in October 2021 in celebration of Blackpool’s heritage and international influence on popular entertainment.
