Get Dancing is a new social dance with a twist. It is an open invite to the Blackpool community and the world to come together and create something special. It is an antidote to the pandemic.

You are at the heart of creating this new dance, send us your ideas, learn it and share it with your friends.

Inspired by a long tradition of novelty dances in Blackpool this new dance will bring together local, national and international communities to inspire people to dance together culminating in a live performance in October 2021.

Get involved, get learning and get dancing!

Listen to our brand new music, The Blackpool Way, bust out some moves and then send them to us. Old or young, amateur or professional – we want your ideas to help us devise our new Blackpool dance.

Anyone can get involved, regardless of dancing experience – you just need to submit your dance move online using our ‘Upload Your Video’ form or you can head over to Tik Tok (@houseofwingz) or you can call our Get Dancing hotline on 01253 532989.

Your move should capture the vibrancy, joy and creativity of Blackpool’s long dance legacy, and once the best moves have been incorporated into the final dance, we will be launching the dance for the world to learn in February 2021.

Remember to use the hashtag #MyBplDance on social media so we can find your upload. Use and follow #GetDancing for information about the project.

Once House of Wingz have pieced together your ideas we will launch our complete dance on a range of platforms.

We need you to learn it and share your performances. Watch this space or follow us on social media to keep up to date with the project.

Get Dancing will culminate in a live performance of the dance in Blackpool in October 2021 in celebration of Blackpool’s heritage and international influence on popular entertainment.
