LeftCoast and Blackpool Coastal Housing have teamed up to bring you a series of fun and FREE Urban Gardening Workshops on Mereside. Got an itch to get green fingered or want to spruce up your neck of the woods? Well look no further, we?ve got you covered. Join in ? it?ll be tip-top.

Guerrilla Gardening – Thursday 7 May from 1-4pm (meet outside Langdale Road shops)

There?s more than meets the eye at our Guerrilla Gardening workshop. Plant the seeds that will see your garden blooming flourish before your very eyes.

Hanging Baskets – Thursday 14 May from 1-4pm (meet at Newby Place)

Hanging baskets with a twist to brighten up Newby Place. Got an old boot lying about? This could be just the job to reinvent it as the perfect hanging basket ? did we mention they?re bee friendly too!

Bug Hotels – Friday 29 May from 1-4pm (meet at Mereside Children?s Centre)

Children and families are invited to step into the world of hotel design ? for bugs! Create the perfect habitat for our creepy crawly friends and build your own bug hotel at Mereside Children?s Centre.

Creative Planters – Thursday 4 June from 1-4pm (meet outside the Boys & Girls Club)

Who says that planters have to be boring? Not us! Make your own planters for veggies, herbs or flowers using recycled materials and get creative with your garden.

Join gardener and bee enthusiast Alan Hulme on a rather special walk around Mereside. Find out where our special friends the bees make their homes right under your noses ? they?re practically your neighbours!

Suitable for all ages ? outdoor clothes advised.
