This brief is to invite an artist to apply for the second artist in residency commission for the Mount Pavilion, to take place in March 2015.
The residency is 12 days in total, which can be delivered over a minimum of 3 weeks and a maximum of 6 weeks.
The Mount Pavilion artist in residence commission is invited to see how The Mount building can be used as a space that encourages people to engage with their natural environment, whether it be the sea or coastline, the inland park that the Mount is situated in or the building itself as a standalone ?hothouse? for growing fresh food for the town community.
- The artist is invited to use the Mount as their space for personal work and exploration as well as a space for community engagement and conversation.
- There are opportunities to create decorative or edible planting in around the building. The building is situated on a grassed hill and has a balcony all the way round the upper floor. This planting would be planted now to be visible for later in the year.
- Be a feeder project for the Growing People celebration event later in the year.
- Engage with other initiatives in the town such as the Rossall Beach group, Fleetwood Museum, Blackpool and Fylde Marine College, the re-development of Memorial Park or Regenda Housing Association.
